Simplified Leak Detection with RemoteLock + Resideo
/resource/article/airbnb-horror-stories-and-how-to-avoid-them/

Water damage is one of the most expensive problems a property manager can face. From ruined flooring to structural repairs, a single undetected leak can turn into a major disruption, forcing residents or guests to relocate and burdening staff with unexpected tasks. RemoteLock’s new integration with Resideo leak detectors offers a smarter way to prevent that scenario — and more.

This integration brings leak detection into the RemoteLock platform, where you already manage your smart locks and thermostats. Now, you can monitor devices, receive alerts, and take action without switching apps or juggling tools. It’s part of our broader mission to simplify operations across multifamily and vacation rental properties.

Water Leak Detector Monitoring with Resideo

With the Resideo integration, RemoteLock supports three trusted leak detector models: the L1 Wi-Fi Water Leak and Freeze Detector, the L2 Wi-Fi Water Sensor and Switch, and the L5 Wi-Fi Water Leak Shutoff Valve. Whether you’re monitoring under a dishwasher or near a hot water heater, these devices provide reliable detection — and in the case of the L5, automatic shutoff when a leak is identified. Plus, you can equip multiple detectors in the same unit, all connected to the same L5 shutoff valve.

You can assign each device to a specific location, customize its name, and monitor its status, including battery level and connectivity. Plus, you’ll have access to a time-stamped event log for every leak alert and resolution. This makes it easier to assess incidents and take action quickly.

Custom Leak Detection Alerts for Faster Response

When water is detected, RemoteLock alerts you instantly. Notifications can be customized at the device or account level and sent via SMS or email. You can add as many recipients as needed to ensure the right team members are in the loop — whether that’s maintenance, management, or both. Alerts are also sent when the issue is resolved, so everyone stays informed.

Why Leak Detection Is Critical for Property Managers

Smart leak detection isn’t just a nice-to-have — it’s increasingly essential. New local ordinances are beginning to require these technologies, and insurance providers will often offer discounts for properties with automated leak detection equipped.

Early detection helps prevent costly claims, reduces risk, and ultimately improves your bottom line. For residents and guests, it’s another sign that your property is well cared for.

All-in-One Property Operations Platform

Leak detectors are the latest addition to the RemoteLock platform, joining a growing list of supported devices designed to streamline your operations. With RemoteLock, you can now manage locks, thermostats, and leak detectors all in one place — saving time, reducing complications, and helping prevent emergencies before they happen.
