How Evermore Orlando Resort Manages 757 Doors Across 1,100 Acres with RemoteLock

Evermore Orlando Resort is not your typical vacation rental. Spanning 1,100 acres right next door to Walt Disney World, the resort is a first-of-its-kind destination that combines the independence of vacation home living with full-service resort amenities. The property includes single-family residences with 5 to 11 bedrooms (each with a private pool), four-bedroom flats in five-story buildings, and villas overlooking the golf course or the resort’s 20-acre tropical beach and crystal lagoon. Beyond the guest accommodations, Evermore features a food hall, restaurants, an arcade, a guest services building, meeting spaces, shops, and more.

All told, that adds up to 725 unit doors and 32 wired common area doors, every one of them managed through RemoteLock.

Automating Guest Access with a PMS Integration

What makes Evermore’s setup especially powerful is the integration between RemoteLock and HotelKey, the resort’s property management system. When a guest reservation is checked in through HotelKey, a unique PIN code is automatically generated through RemoteLock’s API. The guest’s name, email, and check-in and check-out dates are synced between the two systems, and the PIN is communicated back through the PMS for the guest to use on arrival. When their stay ends, the code expires automatically.

“You don’t have someone constantly like, oh, this guest is no longer here, let’s go delete the reservation,” said Othman Yacoubi, IT Infrastructure Manager at Evermore. “The PMS talks to RemoteLock, they set the reservation with a start and end time, and it just runs.”

That automated workflow handles every short-term guest across the entire resort. With average stays running three to seven days and hundreds of units turning over constantly, the volume of access codes being generated and revoked is significant. None of it requires manual intervention.

Streamlining Staff and Vendor Access Control

Guest access is only part of the picture. Evermore’s housekeeping, engineering, IT, sales, and security teams all need access to units and back-of-house spaces throughout the day. Each department is assigned permanent PIN codes managed through RemoteLock, and when an employee is terminated, their access is automatically revoked.

Third-party vendors receive temporary guest access with a defined start and end time. “We tell them, hey, it’s going to be over at 4 PM, your PIN code is going to stop working, and then it stops working,” Yacoubi said. Utility closets, storage units, and other restricted spaces are also secured with PIN code locks through RemoteLock, ensuring only authorized personnel can enter

For high-traffic common areas like the arcade and gym, Evermore uses RemoteLock’s scheduling feature to unlock doors at sunrise and lock them again at night, rather than managing individual guest access to each facility.

Deploying Smart Access Control from Day One

Evermore adopted RemoteLock before the resort even opened. Yacoubi joined a few months into the process and was on the first training call during his first week. He oversaw the initial deployment of 42 villas with three doors each, then scaled the system as new buildings came online: three five-story flat buildings with 50 units each, 23 two-story flats, and eventually the single-family residences.

“We were adding maybe 20-plus locks a day,” Yacoubi said. “I can just go into RemoteLock, log in, add these doors, assign them to the groups, and the process just got smoother.”

That scalability has been essential. Starting from a modest villa portfolio and growing to 757 doors across a 1,100-acre property is a real stress test for any platform, and Yacoubi says RemoteLock handled it without issue.

Managing Multiple Smart Lock Brands from One Platform

Evermore uses a mix of lock brands, all managed through a single RemoteLock dashboard. Yale is the primary hardware across most units, with McGrath and True Secure locks recently added to the mix. The common area doors run on a wired access control system, also integrated into RemoteLock. All locks are either connected via Wi-Fi or hardwired, ensuring continuous network connectivity across the property.

“I have a Yale door right next to me, then right outside there’s a McGrath lock, and then right after that there’s another brand,” Yacoubi said. “They’re all different brands, and they all work. How easy it is to integrate all these different locks and manage them under one interface makes it so much easier.”

Remote Access Management Across a Large-Scale Property

On a property this large, physically walking to a door to troubleshoot an issue isn’t practical. Yacoubi says remote management is the single most valuable capability RemoteLock provides.

“There is no way you’re getting from my office to any of the units in less than 20 minutes,” he said. “You have a guest frustrated, their code isn’t working, and you just unlock it for them remotely after they verify their identity. It saves so much time.”

That remote visibility and control extends to the security team, which Yacoubi trained to handle day-to-day access management. He set up the security department’s assistant director and subject matter experts with platform access, provided video training and SOPs, and now acts as a tier-3 escalation point for anything complex. Routine requests, employee onboarding, and access troubleshooting are all handled by the security team directly.

Access Logs for Security and Compliance

For a property managing hundreds of guest stays and dozens of staff members at any given time, knowing who accessed what and when is critical. Yacoubi says audit trails are one of RemoteLock’s most important features for his team.

“We had a few situations where we needed to investigate. We reached out to the RemoteLock team, and they sent us screenshots of API calls showing who made changes and when,” he said. “It saved us a lot of headache. Someone says the system isn’t working, and it turns out it’s not the system. It’s the user.”

Both user-level access events and admin-level changes are logged, giving Yacoubi and his team a complete record for security investigations and compliance.

See What RemoteLock Can Do

RemoteLock is best known as an access control platform for vacation rentals and multifamily properties, but Evermore Orlando Resort shows what’s possible when you apply it at true resort scale. Seven hundred and fifty-seven doors, multiple lock brands, a fully automated PMS integration, and a security team that manages it all from a single dashboard, across 1,100 acres.

“RemoteLock gave us the confidence that we can continue to grow without significant operational burden,” Yacoubi said. “It just makes things easier, smoother, and a lot less time-consuming.”
