Until now, Schlage XE360 locks on RemoteLock operated exclusively in offline No-Tour mode. Cards and mobile credentials carried updates to the locks, and the system worked reliably without any network infrastructure at the door. It’s still a great fit for properties that don’t have property-wide Wi-Fi.

But for properties that do have Wi-Fi, there’s now another option. Through RemoteLock’s integration with Allegion RealSync, XE360 locks can run online — maintaining a persistent cloud connection that enables real-time credential management, live lock status, and instant revocation.

How it works

The XE360 hardware itself is unchanged. The tubular, mortise, and exit trim form factors already in market all work with the new integration. What changes is the FleX Module inside the lock — the small board that handles connectivity.

Properties install XE360 locks with a Wi-Fi-enabled FleX Module, or swap existing Bluetooth modules in the field on locks they’ve already deployed. The lock connects to the property’s Wi-Fi network and communicates with RemoteLock through Allegion’s RealSync cloud infrastructure. From there, property managers provision devices, assign and revoke credentials, and monitor lock status from the same RemoteLock dashboard they already use.

Residents and staff don’t change anything about their day-to-day experience. The same card credentials (MIFARE DESFire and MIFARE Classic) and BLE mobile credentials work the same way they always have.

Why online mode matters

The offline XE360 experience is already strong, and No-Tour remains one of the most operator-friendly features in access control. Online mode isn’t a replacement — it’s an upgrade for properties that need a few capabilities only a persistent connection can deliver.

Real-time credential changes. In offline mode, updates only reach the lock when a user with updated credentials physically visits the door. Online mode pushes changes immediately over Wi-Fi.

Live lock status. Property teams can verify lock state, check battery levels, and confirm door position from the RemoteLock dashboard in real time, without waiting for the next credential interaction.

Faster provisioning. New devices can be configured from the RemoteLock admin app without needing physical interaction with the lock after installation.

Instant revocation. When a resident moves out or a credential needs to be pulled immediately, online mode delivers that instruction in seconds.

Future-proofed by design

One of the strongest things about XE360 has always been the FleX Module concept. A property can install locks today without any Wi-Fi infrastructure, then upgrade them later by swapping a small board inside the lock — no rip-and-replace, no door downtime.

The RealSync integration extends that flexibility. Properties already running XE360 offline can adopt online mode as they’re ready, on the doors that matter most, without re-deploying hardware. And properties starting fresh can choose the deployment mode that fits their infrastructure today, knowing they can change course later.
